PIGS NOSE INN HALL MUSIC NIGHTS - 14-piece Jazz trained big band fronted by Grime MCs playing everything from huge Garage bangers to intelligent Jazz covers. They’re the act that everyone can enjoy and they fuse sounds and styles that you could only dream of.
Seth Lakeman takes a break from the Robert Plant musical juggernaut in Autumn 2018 to release his ninth studio album ‘The Well Worn Path’ and head out on tour around the UK with a new band line-up in November plus a few intimate solo shows in December.
The charismatic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist found time at the beginning of the year, in between charging around the globe with Robert Plant and his band, the Sensational Space Shifters, to record his new studio album The Well Worn Path. It’s a return to a no-nonsense, organic, classic folk-rock approach with hints of Fairport Convention, Neil Young, Nick Cave and Billy Bragg - plus Lakeman’s trademark foot-stomping, fiddle bow-shredding and soaring vocals.
Seth brought in top producer Ben Hillier and along with long-time collaborator Ben Nicholls on upright and electric bass, he was joined by new boys Kit Hawes on electric and acoustic guitar and drummer Evan Jenkins. One of the finest female folk voices Kathryn Roberts (Seth’s sister-in-law) also contributes sublime backing vocals to the album.

Regarded with awe throughout the music world, Lee “Scratch” Perry holds status as one of the most enduring and original reggae producers and artists of all time. From his early days in the 1960’s as a singer and engineer for Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One in Kingston, through his production of the seminal Wailers’ classics African Herbsman and Soul Revolution, Perry’s innovative style marks him as one of reggae’s original treasures. His on the edge creative genius remains evident in his own solo albums of the 1970’s through his steady stream of mind-boggling releases of the 1980’s.
One of reggae’s undisputed pioneers, Lee “the Upsetter” Perry has worked with almost everyone from the Heptones to the Skatalites to the Clash. Certainly one of his most notable contributions was the pairing of Bob Marley, to Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer with the Barnet Brothers (Carley and “Familyman” who had been the heart of the Perry’s group, the Upsetters) and thus the forming of the Bob Marley and the Wailers.
After his own studio, “Black Ark,” burned to the ground in the late 1970’s, Perry laid low for a while, only to resurface with a vengeance in England in the mid-1980’s. He went back into the studio with a variety of partners, from Adrian Sherwood to Terence Trent D’Arby. During this time, Perry took up residence in the Swiss Alps (“The mountains give me the fresh Swiss air to replenish my structure so I can soon join the immortal race”). Proof positive that talent on this scale will win out no matter what, since the “madman” has come down from the mountain, the World Music market has been gifted with more Lee Perry Product.
One of the hardest working bands in showbusiness, Barry Ashworth and his motley crew have added a much-needed swagger to the UK dance scene in recent years and new album ‘Crazy Diamonds’ finds the band at their uncontrollable, bass-driven best.
A rampant mix of dub, reggae, ska, punk, breaks, beats and drum ‘n’ bass, the album is a full-on dub-quaking extravaganza, built for big fields and summer sound systems. It also happens to feature some of the biggest names in the game including Dancehall dons Beenie Man and Cutty Ranks, reggae singer Earl Sixteen, hip-hop act Too Many T’s, seminal MCs Navigator and the Ragga Twins, and long-time collaborator Lindy Layton.
Tracks like killer new single ‘Crazy Diamonds’ (ft. Too Many T’s) or summer-anthem-in-making, ‘Rise Up’ (ft. Earl Sixteen and Navigator), prove that the Pistols are one of the best around at rockin’ the joint. This is futuristic skank, complete with blazing horns, brazen brass and epic drums and bass.
Proudly working class as a band, the Dub Pistols have been tearing up venues and festivals throughout their career. Inspired by the Second Summer of Love, the band were founded by ubiquitous Londoner Barry Ashworth in 1996 and have been at the forefront of beats culture ever since.
Known for their rhythmical blend of bass, turntables and horns, their genre-mashing abilities has seen them work with some of their biggest heroes including The Specials, Horace Andy, Madness and Gregory Isaacs. They’ve also seen band members come and go, not to mention squander thousands on various capers that have now become legendary and that has taken them from the brink of multi-million-dollar international success to the edge of destruction and back again.
“The band’s reputation as an explosive live act has seen them turn into super-tight festival regulars, with the Dub Pistols headlining some of the biggest festivals in Europe including Glastonbury, Bestival and Beat-Herder. Their bass-driven live machine has seen them win numerous plaudits along the way and recent live guests have included vocalists Rodney P, The Specials’ Terry Hall and Neville Staple, rap wünderkid T.K., Sugardaddy horn-blower Tim Hutton & scratch maestro, DJ Stix.”
The Dub Pistols have also turned their hand to the world of remixing and have remixed the likes of Ian Brown, Moby, Limp Bizkit, Korn and Bono and worked with hiphop legend Busta Rhymes. The band’s music has been used by Playstation and major Hollywood films.
Ashworth is also a much sought-after DJ which has won him many fans around the globe over the last 15 years. Known for his eclectic sets, he was one of the first resident DJs at the influential club, Fabric, in London and has performed high-octane primetime sets internationally in such countries as Australia, Singapore, Serbia, Dubai, Thailand, Germany, Croatia, Italy and France, to name but a few. Additionally, he is founder of Westway Records, a London breakbeat and hip-hop label that’s put out releases from many currently-emerging artists from the UK dance music underground.
He is currently working on a warts 'n' all documentary about the band’s career; a mix of archive and new footage that charts the Dub Pistols’ strange journey from chancers to hot property to epic f**k-ups to unlikely triumph.

Texas-raised Londoner Rodney Branigan learned to play in Austin, perform in Los Angeles, craft songs in Nashville, and put it all together in London.
Artists are often described as having “a unique talent”; few epitomise this more than multi instrumentalist Rodney Branigan. In fact, Texan-born Rodney’s talents as a musician are as plentiful as the many instruments he expertly plays side by side.
He masterfully combines extraordinary multi instrumentalist skills with heartfelt lyrics and a rich soulful voice;(often compared to Jeff Buckley)
“The revelation of the year or even the decade” (Crossroads Magazine, France)
A passion for musical diversity has seen Rodney travel the world with his own, inimitable style of musicianship. Having toured his native America coast-to-coast, Rodney’s desire to share his fusion of organic progressive folk with undertones of rock, flamenco, classical, bluegrass and jazz have also seen him play China as well as France, Germany and Switzerland; earning him love from new fans and respect from established musicians alike.
Rodney Branigan the songwriter is a truly gifted man. Rodney Branigan the performer has to be seen to be believed. Having opened for Billy Sheehan, Jack Johnson, Francis Cabrel, G-Love, Billy Bragg, Albert Lee, Show of Hands to name a few.
